Powerset Launches Showcase For User Search Experience
This strikes me as very underwhelming. It seems like a search engine built for people who don’t know how to use keywords and a ‘find’ tool.
That would be great if they didn’t need to attract early adopters who are very proficient at finding what they’re looking for using Google; but they do. Technology products travel from enthusiasts to ma and pop, not the otherway around.
And, I promise, if what they put out today is any indication of the product’s ultimate value, early adopters will not be flocking over. Not when their sample video shows off how after several clicks you can find out how the Golden Gate bridge got its name, and a Google search for ‘Golden Gate Bridge Name’ gets that information faster, cleaner, and more intuitively.
My verdit: uh oh Powerset.
