Notes &

Genius (or evil?) pricing by Gilt Group. Threadless t-shirts are normally $18. In a “sale” today, Threadless shirts printed exclusively for Gilt carried an MSRP of $60 (an MSRP that was made up just for this sale) and were “discounted” to $29.
Sure, the shirts are probably better quality than the standard American Apparel Threadless stocks (the description says they’re made “with premium yarn and special distressed ink”), but it makes a world of difference to see a (baselessly) perceived value of $60 discounted to $29 then to see this for what it really is: a slightly nicer version of an $18 shirt selling for $29. Would have loved to see them a/b test the stricken outMSRP’s.
